RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS LIVE!! | WALNUT CREEK

The Red Hot Chili Peppers made a stop in North Carolina and performed at the Coastal Credit Union Music Park (Walnut Creek) to a crowd of 19,000+ on June 26th 2024.  The show had an incredible supporting act which was the one and only Ice Cube, unfortunately we were unable to cover his performance.  The Red Hot Chili Peppers, whom have been performing and creating music since 1982 have become an icon in the alternative music scene and are one of the best-selling bands of all time with a whopping 120,000,000 records sold worldwide!  The band has recorded 13 studio albums as well as many other live, video and compilation albums over the years.   The band was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012.  The band is not only known for their incredibly unique musical style but the band members themselves are just as well-known individually.  Lead singer Anthony Kiedis, bass player Flea, drummer Chad Smith and lead guitarist John Frusciante make up the powerful foursome and each are celebrated for that own individual accomplishments as well as the bands accomplishments.

The band performed to a sold-out amphitheater in Raleigh which reached a capacity of 19,000+ fans which is mind blowing when you think about it keeping in mind the band has been around for over 40 years!  The band performed great, and Anthony sounded great.  There were obviously a few high notes he could not hit but keep in mind, he has been performing for 40 years, so he sounded amazing.  Flea has always been known for his energy and excitement on and off the stage.  He was running around the stage, jumping up and down and just having a great time.  Drummer Chad Smith was incredible and fun to watch.  His minor mannerisms and facial expressions during his performance was quite funny and he slayed it on the drums.  Lead guitarist John Frusciante killed it on guitar with his great guitar solos and backing vocals.  The band was fun to watch and listen too.  The venue was packed with screaming fans and thousands of people singing along with Anthony which only enhanced the live performance.  Anthony ran around the stage and even at one point took off his shirt while dancing around next to Flea.

The band played a mixed of songs which included Dani California, Other side, Californication and they ended with Give it Away.  You can see the set list down below.  The only song I don’t remember hearing and maybe it is just my memory, but I did not hear “Under the Bridge”.   I am not sure why they did not perform that song but that was the only classic song of theirs I don’t remember hearing.

If you are a Red Hot Chili Peppers fan and have been following them since the early 80’s then you don’t want to miss this tour.  It was my first time seeing them perform live and it was a very fun, happy and exciting show to watch.
