Lindsey Stirling Brings High‑Voltage Creativity to Raleigh

We had the chance to cover Lindsey Stirling tonight during her tour stop at the Red Hat Amphitheater in Raleigh, NC—and what a night it was. If you’re not familiar with her work, Lindsey is one of the most innovative musicians creating today. Her writing, her creative process, and her sheer originality have placed her firmly at the top of her craft. A violinist, dancer, and songwriter, she has completely reshaped the way audiences think about the violin. She does it not only through intricately composed, jaw‑dropping pieces, but also through live performances that are as theatrical and entertaining as they are musically stunning.

I first saw Lindsey a few years ago when she opened for Amy Lee at Walnut Creek. Even then, during a shorter set, she delivered such an unforgettable performance that I knew f28 had to cover her headlining tour the moment it came through Raleigh. Tonight reaffirmed that decision in every possible way.

Lindsey’s live show is a full‑scale production. She blends costume changes, high‑energy choreography, humor, storytelling, and a fun‑loving spirit that radiates from the stage. And in tonight’s case, she took things even further—performing upside down, suspended from a cable, all while playing her violin with flawless precision. It’s the kind of moment that makes you blink twice just to confirm you really saw what you think you saw.

Her performance never wavered. Lindsey played with power and grace, hitting every note while dancing, spinning, and moving across the stage with nonstop momentum. The upside‑down aerial moment wasn’t a gimmick—it was an extension of her commitment to giving fans a show that feels alive, daring, and unforgettable.

Lindsey Stirling is a performer who genuinely wants her fans to have an energized, joy‑filled experience. She pours everything she has into her time on stage, and it shows in every detail, every movement, every note. If you get the chance to see her live, take it. She delivers a performance that stays with you long after the lights go down.

Lindsey Stirling opened her Red Hat performance in near darkness, the room hushed except for the haunting sound of her violin drifting through the speakers. Then, with a sudden burst of light, she appeared center stage—instantly sending the crowd into a wave of excited screams.

From that moment on, she never stopped moving. Lindsey danced, spun, and glided across the stage with effortless grace, performing pirouettes while playing her violin without missing a single note. Her energy was contagious. She made a point to visit every corner of the stage, giving fans up close moments and letting them feel the full force of her enthusiasm.

After the first three songs, she paused just long enough to greet the crowd, engaging with them in a way that felt genuine and warm. Lindsey is the kind of performer who is truly happy to see you—someone who radiates joy simply by being on stage.

If you haven’t seen her live, make it a priority. Her show is a whirlwind of talent, movement, and pure fun. You’ll leave smiling, energized, and already wanting to see her again.

Side note: We do not have any photographs of her upside down on the wire playing her violin, this stunt was performed after we had already photographed our allotted songs at the start her show.  It was a very cool stunt though!! So, you need to see it!
