YOU NEED TO HEAR JANUARY JANE!
Today, NYC-based alternative pop trio JANUARY JANE have unveiled the music video to their newly released single "Versions of You.” The single, which (Second Society Report) lauds as “incredibly infectious” and That Grape Juice calls “one of the most dance-worthy and infectious tunes of the year” is the newest track taken from the band’s upcoming EP Your Drug out this summer via Whiskey Vinyl/BMG. Filmed at Be Electric Studios in Brooklyn, this was the first shoot that the band had to have a mobile onsite disease control center on hand to test everyone. Lead vocalist/lyricist Pat Via says, “all tests came back negative which was a big positive!” Adding, “We worked on the treatment of the video with director Peter Roessler [of Two Bridges Media] using elements of double exposure to create "versions" of love, relationships, and the echoes left to be saved.” The “Versions of You” video premiered yesterday via Hollywood Life. Legendary musicologist/KLOS DJ Matt Pinfield (who signed January Jane to his Whiskey Vinyl label) says that the infectious grooves on the EP’s tracks “display [the band’s] influences and love for '80s rock and pop while sounding undeniably modern and perfect for the '20s." Music Daily applauds the band on their use of “slick, pop influences [with] a garage band approach.”

January Jane's neon-drenched take on both modern and '80s-influenced pop/rock is on full display throughout the EP, featuring uplifting tracks with big booming choruses. Though the recording process for the EP spanned different times and time zones, the band states that listeners can expect to hear a “late night party in New York City - champagne, Gray's Papaya and all the fun, with none of the hangover.” "This EP is like a medley of all of our experiences in NYC and beyond," guitarist Mitch Mitchell says. "We recorded some of the album in our 'clubhouse' in Midtown, Manhattan, some in Brooklyn, and some in LA. Next time around, we'll try to record in all five boroughs... but every space has its own energy, so we really try to utilize that in a metaphysical way, of course." NYSMusic praises the band’s “consistent infectious energy” on the EP and says the exciting mixture of 80’s throwback and modern electro pop act as a “perfect soundtrack for the dancefloor and exciting midnight drive.”
