Simple Plan performed at the Ritz on 04.29.22 on their co-headline tour with Sum 41. Simple Plans first major label debut came out March 19, 2002, called “No Pads, No Helmets...Just Balls” This album produced some legendary songs still played on the radio today including, “I do Anything”, “I’m just a kid”, “Addicted” and “Perfect” among other great songs on the album. This of course was my first introduction to the band and then I became a lifelong fan. They then released their sophomore album on October 26, 2004, called “Still no getting any” which included hit songs such as “Shut up”, “Welcome to my life”, “Jump” and “Crazy”. The album was another great release from the band. With their mixture of honest and compassionate lyrics underscored by their rock/punk melodic compositions the band has created music that has left an indelible impact on music fans around the world. Simple plan is known for creating highly energic rock riffs underlined by punk influence that get you up and jumping while also writing emotionally connected songs that help people feel embraced and not alone during difficult times. The band has had so many hits from their 5 full length album releases we will just name a few of our favorites besides the ones already listed above. We recommended to either YouTube, Spotify or even better go out and buy the records, they are great! Here are some of our favorite songs from other the years.

  • Jet Leg (featuring Natasha Bedingfield)

  • Your Love is a Lie

  • When I am gone

  • Where I belong

  • Boom

  • Opinion Overload

  • This song saved my life

  • Ruin My Life (Featuring Deryck Whibley)

There are so many more, but these are just a few of our favorites.

Now let’s talk about the show!

Simple Plan came to the stage with energy and were ready to have fun with everyone.  Lead singer Pierre Bouvier sounded great and was walking around the stage showing love to everyone.  Drummer Chuck Comeau, guitarist Jeff Stinco and Sébastien Lefebvre sounded great and were also engaging with the Raleigh crowd.   One of the wild moments of the night was when the band was performing “I’m just a kid” and suddenly Pierre stopped singing and went onto the drum kit while drummer Chuck Comeau put on a full hazmat suit and walked off stage and stood in the pit.  He then got up and stood on the barrier while the band counted down from three, after that he jumped into the crowd as they carried him around crowd surfing.  It was funny and great to see that kind of interaction again.  The band put on one incredible show and seeing them perform some of our favorite songs live was a great moment.  They are currently on tour with Sum 41 and Set if Off, check out the link below for update tour dates and times.

Don’t miss this tour!
