THE WALLOWS LIVE!! | TERMINAL 5 NEW YORK
Wallows is an alt rock band from Los Angeles, California who took off after their single "Pleaser" released in 2017, and only grew with their debut album Nothing Happens in 2019, which notably included the track "Are You Bored Yet" with indie pop artist Clairo. Wallows has been on tour celebrating their spring 2022 release of their sophomore album Tell Me That It's Over, and recently played not one, but four sold out shows at New York City's Terminal 5. Included are photos from night 3 of their New York run on June 16th. This is their first tour since the 2020 shutdown, and they've certainly come back with a bang.
Terminal 5 is a venue notorious among NYC concert goers - and it's not exactly a fan favorite. The sight lines are pretty rough, and this frustration often brings down the engagement of the crowd significantly–not to mention it's difficult to get to with the nearest subway being nearly a mile away. Selling that venue out 4 times, let alone having the packed, engaged, and energetic audience that Wallows brought in each night is an impressive feat to say the least. Each member brought their own captivating energy and stage presence, making use of the large stage and frequently engaging with the audience. The alternating vocals between Dylan Minnette and Braeden Masters kept it interesting, and the crowd's excitement was palpable and infectious. Paired with a solid setlist of upbeat rock songs, they kept that energy going all night, and you never would have guessed it was their third night in a row - it felt fresh, and they were clearly happy to be there. At one point, some fans in the front row even gave bouquets of flowers to the band, which they danced around with for a couple songs.
Although this tour is nearly wrapped up, Wallows has announced plans and posted dates to continue touring their new album for the remainder of the year into 2023 - including a complete European tour and a small second leg in the US in the Fall.
