BEARTOOTH LIVE!! | RITZ MUSIC VENUE
Beartooth performed at the Ritz Music Venue in Raleigh during their current tour with Trivium. Beartooth formed in 2012 and have released four studio albums to date with their most recent being called “BELOW” which came out in 2021. The band has a huge fan base and are known for their blend of hardcore rock and aggressive punk style compositions.
When arriving to the Ritz Music Venue I saw a sea of people wearing Beartooth t-shirts anxiously waiting to get inside the venue. Upon arriving inside the venue, the crowd was amped and ready to go even before the band hit the stage. To open the show, two incredible bands performed in support of both Beartooth and Trivium and it was “Archetypes Collide” and “Malevolence”. The bands sounded great, and their individual performances got the crowd moving. After the great performance by Trivium (separate article posted) fans started screaming “Beartooth” repeatedly as it came close to the band entering the stage. After the lights went low the crowd went wild. Each band member walked out, grabbing their instruments and saying hello to the crowd. As the first riff from lead guitarist Zach Huston started to play you saw sprinting out of the shadows from stage right lead singer Caleb Shomo burst onto the stage with an atomic explosion of energy. He ran around the stage, jumping, dancing, singing and the crowd was loving it! The bands energy was outstanding and never once became subdued during their entire performance. As the band was in the middle of their second song that is when the crowd surfing and mosh pit began. Everyone there was having a blast singing along with Caleb and enjoying the night with other music fans. I saw parents with their kids and even those kids were singing along to certain songs. The show was outstanding, Caleb and the band sounded clean, clear and on point. I honestly don’t know how they keep that energy going all night long, but they did. Caleb at one point even went into the crowd to be close to the fans during part of their performance.
If you are a Beartooth fan or looking for a great show to go to then this is one you don’t want to miss. If you enjoy crowd surfing, head banging and mosh pits then you will be in the right place. Beartooth puts on a performance that really does make you want more after the show is over.
