CROWDED HOUSE LIVE!! | KOKO BOOTH

Coverage by Chris Sturk

We covered the band Crowded House during their tour stop at the Koko Booth Amphitheater in Cary NC. Crowded House formed 1985 and found global success with hit songs, “Don’t dream its over”, “Something So Strong”, “Mean to Me” and many others. The band disbanded in 1996, and each band member went on to work on other projects. In 2006 the band would get back together to start work on a new album, though the band would be missing on piece of the original lineup as drummer Paul Hester tragically passed away due to suicide in 2005. This was a profound loss for the band as they were missing their dear friend and who they called “the best drummer we ever worked with”.

The band has gone through a few changes over the years since 2006 but are now back on tour promoting their 2024 album “Gravity Stairs”. The band performance was nothing but beautiful. The band sounded great and lead singer Neil Finn did not skip a beat and sounded great vocally. The band performed on a beautiful night in North Carolina and brought not only humor but performed some of their biggest hits. At one point the band was joking about frogs and turtles and going back and forth about it as the crowd laughed during their interaction. The band sounded great and when it came time to end the night, they played one of their all-time biggest hits called “Don’t Dream its Over” and it was awesome to hear and see live!

We had a great time watching them perform and interact with each other on stage, it was a fun show mixed with humor and some great music. It was a great experience and the band as whole sounded really good. Crowded House fans don’t miss out on this tour.
