FLIPTURN LIVE!! | RITZ MUSIC VENUE
Flipturn performed at the Ritz Music Venue to a sold-out crowd of about 1,300 people in Raleigh NC. This show marked a very cool moment for us at f28 as we have watched this band grow from an opening support band to a headliner in just a short few years. Flipturn is an indie rock band that formed in 2015 in Florida and consists of band members Dillon Basse (vocals), Tristan Duncan (guitar) and Madeline Jarman (bass) and drummer Devon VonBalson. We covered their energetic performance in 2023 in Carrboro NC when they performed at the Cat’s Cradle, which was also a sold out show of 550 to 650 people. The band themselves are a high-end ball of energy when performing. Each band member dances and moves around the stage while drummer Devon is playing the drums as if Dave Grohl was watching. Every performance we have seen of them was amazing. They sounded incredible and on this sold out show they had these really incredible lighting effects that just amped up the energy in the venue.
One thing I noticed during their performance was that you could barely hear lead singer Dillon Basse singing and it was not because of any technical issue, it was because the entire venue was singing every lyric he was singing louder! It was amazing to watch and hear! I am not kidding either, when I say the entire venue was signing the entire venue was singing. Fans of the band were dancing and jumping around having an incredible time. Lead singer Dillon ran around the stage dancing, jumping, spinning and engaging the crowd encouraging them to sing along. Flipturn is a band that has a very dedicated and loving fanbase. I am so happy to see this band continuing to grow and I don’t doubt in the least that we will soon see this band play arenas. If you want to enjoy some great music and be free to jump around, dance and just be a ball of energy, then this is the show for you. Once of the top performances of the year!
