LAUREN DAIGLE LIVE!! | PNC ARENA
Lauren Daigle performed at the PNC arena on 02.23.24 and brought a happy and exciting performance to the stage. She came with a great supporting act “Blessings Offer” who came out and got everyone on their feet with his incredible voice and style. We have covered Lauren Daigle a few years ago at the Greensboro Coliseum and we had a great time then so we had no doubt she would put on another fun and energized performance, and she did not disappoint. Lauren released her fourth studio album in 2023 with the first part releasing on May 12th with it debuting on the US Billboard charts at number 21 as well as debuting at number one on the Top Christian Albums chart which would make this album her 4th consecutive album to top that chart. She was also nominated for Top Christian Album in 2023 at the Billboard Music Awards as well as a Best Contemporary Christian Music Album in 2024 at the Grammy Awards.
Laurens music though very popular in the Christian music scene and even herself considered a contemporary Christian artist, has seen her music transcend across religious ideation and into the ears of music fans who may not be associated with the Christian faith. Certain songs and or music in general can create a uniquely personal story line and or memory to the person listening to that song. Songs, once released out into the world, take on a life of their own and is put into the hands of the listener who applies the feeling that song gives them to their own personal lives regardless of what the songs original ideology was by the songwriter. The reason I state that is because some of Laurens music has the ability to reach across the isle of music genres and into the ears of all sorts of people regardless of religious belief.
The first song I heard from Lauren was called “You Say” and it was a song that made me think of my mother. The song, at least to me, reminds me of all the times my mom believed in me when I did not believe in myself. When I hear that song, I don’t think of religion or God, I don’t think any of that. I think about the people in my life who have stood by me and helped me when I felt alone or lost. I think about my mom, my close friends of which who never once waivered their love. Another song that I really enjoyed and meant something different to me was the song “Rescue”. It is a beautiful song and listening to that song has a unique experience for me as it probably does for anyone who listens to it. The amazing part of music is that it can mean different things to different people and that is something incredible.
Ok, now on to the show!
Laurens show was filled with color, energy and fan interaction. As soon as Lauren hit the stage she was engaging with the crowd. She was smiling the entire time while performing and had this palpable enthusiasm that was felt across the venue. The stage was set up with a sort of “T” shape concept. The main stage had a long extension that darted out into the center of the colosseum which gave her the ability to get closer to fans further back in the venue. At one point she walked down the long stage and would read people personal note cards that they were holding up and talk with those fans. The entire band that was with her were great and energetic as well. It was one of the most colorful shows I have seen in a long time. If you are a Lauren Daigle fan then you will have a great time seeing her perform, if you are new to her, I definitely recommend checking her out because it really is a fun show with some great music.
