POST MALONE LIVE!! | WALNUT CREEK
Coverage by Chris Sturk
We got the pleasure of covering one of the most beloved musicians in the world, Post Malone during his tour stop in Raleigh at the Walnut Creek. I covered Post Malone over 7 years ago when he performed at the Walnut Creek, but that show was a different kind of show and had a different vibe from the one we just covered. When we first covered him, he was touring with 21 Savage (who put on a horrible performance) and other known hip hop artists who were popular at that time. His performance during that show was good but it was not very energetic and kind of dry. It was not that he was bad, but it was only him standing and walking around a stage with really big lights behind him and nothing else, so when we heard he was coming to Raleigh to promote his new country album I definitely wanted to see if things had changed and I am here to say enthusiastically, YES!, it has changed for all the right reasons. You could feel something was different even before he started to perform, the energy in the venue was light and fun as music fans walked the grounds excited and energized. The entire vibe of the venue just felt really happy, so that was a major change from the last time we covered him.
Post Malones performance this time around was filled with pyrotechnics, real musicians performing using real instruments, large screens playing different images and a lighting set up that was incredible to watch. He came out to the stage fired up and ready to go. He engaged with the crowd and looked so happy to be there. He sounded great and thanked everyone for being there and listening to, as he put it, “some of my crappy songs”. He made the crowd laugh and dance throughout the night. He played some of his new country songs as well as some of his older songs. The entire ampehater was sold out which is incredible, that is 20,000 people all coming together to see one person to perform the songs they love. Post Malone put on an unforgettable performance that felt like one big happy party filled with happy people wanting to make the world a better place. Post Malone is a different man than he was many years ago and you can see the change in his stage presence, the energy he brings to his performance and his overall outlook on life. It was such a great show and I recommend anyone who loves Post Malone to not miss this tour, it is one of the best of 2024.
