Hailee Steinfeld: From Breakthrough Actress to Charting Pop Artist

Hailee Steinfeld is an American actress and singer whose career has spanned critically acclaimed film roles and successful pop releases. She made her breakthrough as Mattie Ross in True Grit (2010), earning widespread recognition and an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Her early success led to prominent roles in Ender’s Game (2013), Romeo & Juliet (2013), Begin Again (2013), and 3 Days to Kill (2014).

Steinfeld reached an even wider audience with her role as Emily Junk in Pitch Perfect 2 (2015) and Pitch Perfect 3 (2017). She also earned a Golden Globe nomination for her standout performance as Nadine Franklin in The Edge of Seventeen (2016), a film that showcased her ability to balance humor, vulnerability, and emotional depth.

Her music career began shortly after performing “Flashlight” in Pitch Perfect 2. Steinfeld released her own cover of the song and soon signed with Republic Records. Her debut single, “Love Myself,” became a platinum-certified hit in multiple countries and set the tone for her pop sound. She followed it with her debut EP, Haiz (2015).

Since then, Steinfeld has released several successful singles, including “Starving,” a collaboration with Grey and Zedd that peaked at No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100, and “Let Me Go,” a collaboration with Alesso, Florida Georgia Line, and Watt, which reached No. 14 on the U.S. Mainstream Top 40 chart.

With a career that bridges film, television, and music, Hailee Steinfeld continues to evolve as one of the most versatile and recognizable talents of her generation.
