American singer, songwriter, and actor. He achieved fame in the late 1990s on the daytime drama All My Children as JR Chandler. He later joined boy band Dream Street, and eventually branched out into a solo musical career. Additionally, McCartney has appeared on shows such as Law & Order: SVU, Summerland, and Greek. McCartney also is known for lending his voice as Theodore in Alvin and the Chipmunks and its sequels, as well as voicing Robin/Nightwing in Young Justice and Roxas and Ventus in the video game series Kingdom Hearts developed by Square Enix.
I first heard of Jesse McCartney when I was in my early 20’s working in radio. His hit song “Beautiful Soul” was blowing up the airwaves in 2004. It was a very catchy song with a great chorus and lyrics that just about anyone can relate too. This song put Jesse not only on my radar as an upcoming artists but also put him in front of an entirely new audience. Jesse has continued to create music over the years with another hit song called “Leaven” released in 2008. His fan base as grown while his lyrical and musical process has matured over the years. You can see over the years that he has started to find his unique style and creative flow.
Now lets get down to the nitty gritty, how was his live performance Chris? Lets put it this way, I have never seen or heard that many people sing back the lyrics to every song of an artist until his concert. Jesse was extremely energetic and came on stage ready to dance and sing the night away with the fans. He made sure to talk with the fans and embrace their energy. He sounded clear and his voice was balanced with every note he sang. He was happy to be there with the crowd and made sure to let them know how excited he was to be back in Raleigh to see them. He sang some of his biggest hits which brought even more crowd interaction. I seriously think he could of just sat on stage and had the crowd sing every song.
Jesse put on a performance that started 2019 off on the right foot. His energy was positive and strong through his entire show. He never wavered in his enthusiasm and made the fans feel important and special as if they have a person connection to him through his music. A fan actually walked up to me and said “can you get me back stage!?” I responded by laughing “I don’t have that kind of power, I am just a photographer”. She then showed me a picture that was taken at one of his shows where she was on stage and he was taking a selfie with her. I could tell she was probably one of his biggest fans. If you are a fan of Jesse McCartney and you have not seen him live, well you are missing out. He puts on a great show and will leave you wanting to see him live again.
