CONCERT ALERT! | FLORENCE AND THE MACHINE
FLORENCE + THE MACHINE DEBUTS GAME OF THRONES® TRACK “JENNY OF OLDSTONES” LIVE WITH KELSEY LU AT FORM ARCOSANTI
Florence + the Machine debuted their Game of Thrones track “Jenny of Oldstones” live last night during their headline set at FORM Arcosanti with longtime friend and collaborator Kelsey Lu—watch the performance, dedicated to Arya Stark, here. Originally premiered during the closing credits of this season’s second episode, Florence is the only artist to be featured in the final season of the hit HBO series. Florence’s version, produced by Thomas Bartlett, has been streamed more than 12 million times to date.
Florence recorded the song after being personally approached by the show’s creators, longtime Florence fans David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.
“We’ve always been huge fans of Florence’s music, and the Season 2 trailer with her song ‘Seven Devils’ was possibly the most powerful we’ve ever had,” say Benioff and Weiss. “So the opportunity to hear her otherworldly voice on our show was always at the forefront of our minds. We’re still pleasantly shocked that she agreed to sing ‘Jenny of Oldstones,’ and we’re in love with the result.”
“Jenny of Oldstones” was written by Ramin Djawadi, Dan Weiss, David Benioff and George R.R. Martin.
Florence, whose massively acclaimed fourth album High As Hope was released last year, will continue to tour the world over in 2019, headlining Governors Ball in New York in addition to her own dates including London’s Hyde Park, Colorado’s iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater, Santa Barbara, Concord, Las Vegas, Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, Montreal, Boston, D.C., Raleigh, Atlanta, Orlando, Miami and beyond.
