Vampire Weekend — Live at Red Hat Amphitheater
Vampire Weekend made a tour stop in Raleigh, NC at the Red Hat Amphitheater, performing to an almost sold‑out — if not completely sold‑out — crowd. They’re currently out on The Father of the Bride Tour, and we had the chance to cover their Raleigh date.
The band is touring in support of their latest release, Father of the Bride, which dropped on May 3rd, 2019. The album has been met with overwhelmingly positive reviews, including a 97% approval rating from Google users.
It was a hot night, but that didn’t stop dedicated fans from packing the venue to experience Vampire Weekend’s unique and visually exciting set. A massive globe stood behind them on stage, giving the performance a larger‑than‑life feel. The band sounded fantastic, with lead vocalist Ezra Koenig taking charge and the dual‑drum setup blending together seamlessly.
One of the standout moments of the night came from lead guitarist Brian Robert Jones, whose epic, mind‑melting solos had the crowd erupting in excitement every time. The rest of the band delivered strong, consistent performances, keeping the music tight even without moving around the stage much.
