Judas Priest are what you would call metal gods or metal icons. Judas Priest formed in 1969 and have sold over 50 million albums worldwide. The bands best selling album was the 1982 release called “Screaming for Vengeance” which includes the classic song “you got another thing coming”. The band has helped pave the way for future metal bands and helped define a generation. I remember first hearing the bands music blaring over the airwaves from 107.3 WAAF as a kid growing up in the 80’s and loved the sound and vocals of Rob Halford. With such songs as “breaking the law”, “you got another thing coming”, “Living after midnight” and one of my favorites “Turbo Lover”.
The band performed at the Redhat Amphitheater on Wednesday September 16, 2021 and Rob Halford still sounded great and it was great seeing original bassist Ian Frank Hill on stage performing as well. Two of the original members kicking ass on the Raleigh stage. Watching them perform was incredible and not only because their are living metal icons but also because they wrote some of the best songs ever made in my opinion. It was an honor to cover their tour stop in Raleigh and I recommend any metal head to put their tour on your list of shows to see this year!!
