We covered Korn during their tour stop in Raleigh with Staind on August 10th at the Coastal Credit Union Music Park.   If you are not sure who Korn is they are one of the best-selling nu-metal rock bands of the past 20 years selling over 40 million records.  They are also one of the bands that were instrumental in bringing the nu-metal genre to the forefront.

Now to the show!

Before Korn came on, they put up a large white sheet that blocked anyone from seeing the stage.  The crowd was filled with fans wearing Korn and Staind tour shirts and people talking about their favorite Korn songs.  After about 20 minutes the lights went dim and you started to hear some music.  Then the huge white sheet quickly fell and this incredible light show shot out into the venue as the band started to play.  The crowd went wild, and people started head banging and raising their arms up in excitement.  The band sounded great, and I did not hear any issues with their performance.  Jonathan Davis vocals sounded clear and just like they did almost 20 years ago.  He said hello to the crowd and would talk a little bit between songs.  Each band member kept their energy up with every guitar lick and drum crash.  If you are a fan of Korn and or want to see one of the forefathers of the nu-metal music genre then you want to check out their tour.  For all diehard Korn fans, make sure you are ready to scream your heart out singing along with James on all their biggest hits from across their incredibly long and influential catalog.
