NYC indie folk stalwart Elizabeth Wyld has spent the last few years creating a narrative for her career; one that speaks to a deeply personal bond with her music and is influenced by her journey of self determination, overcoming a serious vocal cord illness and embracing her place in the LGBTQIA+ community. Her debut full length album Quiet Year (released in April) garnered her critical accolades and frequent comparisons to artists like Phoebe Bridgers and Kacey Musgraves while laying the framework for exciting things to come.

"Something You Might Regret" is Wyld's first single post-album and her first collaboration with indie musician Zach Jones (of Zach Jones & The Tricky Bits). Falling stylistically somewhere between folk, indie rock and emo; this single captures everything there is to love about Wyld's music and is an impressive display of Jones's songwriting and vocal ability. If you're a fan of Tigers Jaw, Waxahatchee and Petal but aren't afraid to throw on some folk music from time to time, this might just be your new favorite song. "Something You Might Regret" is an exploration of the earnest pain of unrequited love, and the result is a straightforward earworm of song that you'll want blasting from your car speakers during a long summer drive.

“Liz and I wrote ‘Something You Might Regret’ about the unrequited love of our high school years." says Jones. "We found a fitting sonic palette in the music of Better Oblivion Community Center, Mike Viola, and Big Thief, and with the help of our friend Oscar Albis Rodriguez, we brought our teenage heartache back to life in sonic form.”

"I had 2000s nostalgia on my mind when Zach and I wrote Something You Might Regret" continues Wyld. "It's a nod to first cars and first crushes."

Expect more music from Elizabeth Wyld throughout the summer and fall!
