GOOSE LIVE!! | REDHAT AMPHITHEATER
As I left work Thursday evening and headed to Red Hat Amphitheater, I opened up my Spotify and looked up the band I'm covering tonight, Goose. I was asked to cover them and said yes, even though I have never heard of them before. I'm a metal guy. Love metal and can listen to it all the time. After I park the car, I grab my camera bag and walk in the sweltering heat to pick up my ticket and photo pass at will call. I look around as people are coming into Red Hat. A lot of tie-dye shirts, which I love. Then, I started to notice a lot of Phish shirts also. So, I started to put it all together and figured this will be a good evening in Raleigh. A good evening to jam with Goose!
When Goose took the stage, the crowd went nuts. The band waved as they all took their spots and big smiles on their faces. They played two sets. and both sets were AMAZING! If you have never seen them live, these aren't 3 to 5 minutes songs. They jam for 10+ minutes each song. They opened up with Hungersite, Inside Out and I was blown away. This was my first time hearing their music and seeing them live. I snapped some photos and then stood there amazed. The first set had 4 songs, then they took a small break. They began the second set with Bob Don, and again, mind blowing. Every song I was honestly taken back and had to watch them as they played. These guys are amazing!
Then, they left the stage. The crowd is cheering for Goose to come back, and honestly, who wouldn't?! We all wanted more. They came and played California for the encore.
Leaving the show, I just had to stand there and take in what I just saw. A band I never heard of, seen live, or hang around people who don't listen to them. But, leaving the show, they definitely gained a new fan in me! I'm listening to them right now as I'm writing this review! I'm ready to see them live again. If you haven't heard of the genius that is Goose or seen them live, I BEG YOU...please go buy a ticket and be ready to witness awesomeness on stage! These guys are amazing, I can't say it enough. Thank you for a great evening Goose! You gained a new fan in me and I will make people listen to the music while in my car!
Goose has a new album coming out on the 22nd of this month (June). GO GET IT!!!
