JORDANA LIVE!! | CATS CRADLE

Coverage by Angela Gallagher

I love discovering new music and recently I had the chance to see & photograph Jordana at Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro, NC. The venue is small but was completely packed for the show. The opener for the night was Rachel Bobbit. She is an Indie Rock artist from Canada and everyone was loving the vibe she and her band brought to the room.

When Jordana took the stage, everyone in the room was excited to see her. At first, she realized the sound of her violin wasn’t working, so while that was being worked on she told a joke. “Why did the chicken cross the road?” Someone in the front answers “So it could get a banana!” Everyone laughs…then the person hands Jordana a banana! Where it came from I have no idea, but if you look closely in some of my pictures you might just see an overly ripe banana hanging on her mic stand (no you’re not seeing things). After that, all of the sound was fixed and the show started. I was so impressed, her voice is beautiful and the band was really good. My favorite song of the night was “Like A Dog” from her album ‘Lively Premonition’. Not only were her vocals on point but I love when you can see that everyone is singing along & loving the show. Her music has a softness to it that I am really starting to love. She is a rockstar in her own right, definitely check her out!
