STONE WHISKEY LIVE!! | LINCOLN THEATER

Coverage by James Benson

On Friday night, January 17th, the Lincoln Theater was throwing a wonderful rock show. One of the bands playing was a local Raleigh band Stone Whiskey. They are your classic Rock & Roll band sound and attitude. They have a high energy sound, but can also mix in a few ballads, and still rock the house. The nearly packed Lincoln Theater was rocking from the moment they took the stage till they left. They even had a 3-song acoustic set that was awesome. The vocalist, Alan Rueda, knows how to command the stage. His stage presence is up there with some of the greats, in my humble opinion. Guitarist Bill Spears, Chris Clark, and bassist Jim Hunter had some awesome solos within their songs they let you know they can shred. And drummer Mike Ropelewski kept everyone in tempo with amazing drum playing. He had a few solos for the evening as well. Everyone was having a great time jamming along with Stone Whiskey. You can catch them on tour now through the next several months. This band is a must see and you will not be let down! These guys are why you go and check out your local bands. You never know who you will discover and end up really liking. Plus, when they get big, you can say you saw them when they first started. Go support your local bands just as much as the big-time artist!
