Jessica Lea Mayfield performed to an energetic crowd at Cat’s Cradle in Carboro, NC on January 25th. As Jessica took to the stage a fan nearby expressed to me how excited she was to see the artist in concert for the first time after being a fan for over fifteen years. Jessica performed many songs from across her four studio albums, and the crowd sang along to her country al-rock hits such as “Our Hearts are Wrong”, “Sorry is Gone”, and “Standing in the Sun”. While switching guitars, Jessica joked and conversed with the crowd as if they were long-time friends. The band members, including her bass player and husband Jesse Newport, were clearly enjoying their time on stage, dancing around and hyping up Jessica. The night closed out with a captivating two song encore where Jessica performed alone on stage with her guitar. Truly a wonderful way to spend a Saturday night!
