TEDESCHI TRUCK BAND LIVE!! | REDHAT

Coverage by Larissa Blankenship

Although October 17th was a cold night in Raleigh, NC, Red Hat Amphitheater was packed with Tedeschi Trucks Band’s dedicated fans. With over a decade of history as a group the blues rock band is now on the road as part of their Live in 25 tour. The band, which originally formed in 2010, is led by spouses Susan Tedeschi (lead vocals) and Derek Trucks (lead guitar). The group is now made up of over a dozen members who each bring their own unique musical talent to the band.

The show began with “Don’t Let Me Slide” off of the band's debut album, Revelator which had many fans singing along and swaying to the music. As the night went on each member of the group had their own time to shine, such as when Mike Mattison came down from a platform on the right side of the stage to sing lead vocals for a few songs. The whole ensemble was impressive to see and hear with the members working off of and with each other to create an unforgettable experience. The group performed many of their own songs as well as covers such as “1999” by Prince. Tedeschi Trucks Band’s concerts are an incredible showcase of musical talent, and if you have the chance make sure to catch them live before the tour ends later this month.
