Multi-platinum rock band STAIND celebrates 25 years of their seminal 5x-Platinum third full-length offering, Break the Cycle, with the release of a new live album entitled Break the Cycle (25th Anniversary Live) out August 21, 2026 via Alchemy Recordings/BMG. Pre-order/Pre-save HERE.
The album will be available in a number of physical D2C configurations, including various exclusive vinyl variants (some which have already sold out) and a Walmart exclusive CD/DVD package. Prior to the release of the full length album the band put out new live versions of their hits “Fade - Live” and “It’s Been Awhile - Live” both new live offerings have already racked up over two million listens and views across all DSP’s.
Break the Cycle has been highlighted as an album that best features the band's creative ability and variety. The album's variety ranges from acoustic driven atmospheric songs to aggressive screaming hard rock tracks. When speaking about Break the Cycle, Lewis has often cited that the album was like “Baskin Robbins” 31 flavors because of the contrast between the songs. Coming off of their debut album Dysfunction the band felt a mounting pressure to top their success. As a result they channeled all of their feelings of pressure and anxiety into their song writing. 25 years later the appetite for Break The Cycle is loud and clear with the Live version bringing new attention of powerful vocals and performance elements to the masses.
“Warm Safe Place” will be the single that will be the next focus track off the record Break The Cycle (25th Anniversary Live). The song, an emotional track about the intense loneliness of life on tour, personal inner turmoil and the saving grace of finding mental and emotional stability in a loved one has become an online sensation with the masses via TikTok. You can watch the visualizer video HERE.
Break the Cycle (25th Anniversary Live) marked the first-ever live play through of Break the Cycle top-to-bottom. In the midst of the Pandemic, STAIND performed the album from beginning to end at an empty warehouse in Holyoke, MA—steps from where they formed in Springfield back in 1995. For a special fan livestream, they channeled the original spirit of the record amplified with the energy and experience of 25 years on the road, giving Break the Cycle a rush of fresh blood.
Among many highlights, the show notably saw them play “Change” and recent TikTok sensation “Warm Safe Place” live for the very first time. The musicians—Aaron Lewis [vocals, guitar], Mike Mushok [guitar], Johnny April [bass], and Sal Giancarelli [drums]—are firing on all cylinders throughout the 12-track set.
Break the Cycle originally landed on May 8, 2001. It vaulted to #1 on the Billboard 200, taking flight as the first of three #1 debuts on the respective chart for STAIND. The guys appeared on covers including Rolling Stone, among various other publications. However, the album’s true legacy is its connection with millions of fans worldwide. Long before mental health was a regular topic of conversation, STAIND unraveled the complexities and conflicts of anxiety and anguish on Break the Cycle, facing family trauma head-on, overcoming doubt, and showing that it’s still possible to find light and beauty beneath all of the scars.
Following the release of Break the Cycle (25th Anniversary Live), STAIND will embark on their highly anticipated Break The Cycle 25th Anniversary Tour. The 25 date trek will feature Seether as direct support, with special guests Hoobastank and Hinder as openers, bringing together four defining forces of modern rock for one massive run this fall. Produced by Live Nation, the Break The Cycle 25th Anniversary Tour will kick off in September and make stops across major amphitheaters and arenas in the U.S. and Canada, concluding in Austin, TX. About STAIND:
STAIND never lose sight of where they came from. Long before the number one records, multiplatinum plaques, sold-out arenas, billions of streams, and social media virality, the musicians tirelessly cut their teeth, sharpened their skills, and shed blood, sweat, and tears during countless gigs in basements, bars, busted-up clubs, and run-down old theaters around the Northeast. The band clawed their way out of Springfield, MA on their own terms, tapping into a heaviness as unforgiving as a New England winter, delivering hooks that caress through catharsis, and sharing emotion as delicate as an exposed nerve. From day one, STAIND’s sound was alternately crushing and comforting. They absorbed the teeth-kicking intensity of groove metal, the melodic grit of grunge, and the diaristic approach of dyed-in-the-wool singer-songwriters into a signature style. They have sold over 15 million records worldwide fueled by the 2x-PlatinumDysfunction [1999], 5x-Platinum Break the Cycle [2001], Platinum 14 Shades of Grey [2003], and Platinum Chapter V[2005]. Along the way, they earned five straight Top 5 debuts on the Billboard 200, including three consecutive #1 entries. “It’s Been Awhile” logged a staggering 20 weeks at #1 on airwaves, making it “one of the most-played songs in modern rock radio history.” In 2023, they sent Confessions Of The Fallen to #1 on the Billboard Top Active Rock Albums Chart and notched Active Rock Radio #1 hits“Lowest In Me” and “Here And Now.” 2026 saw the beginning of a renaissance when theBreak the Cycle deep cut “Warm Safe Place” surged on TikTok. Forever pushing forward,STAIND celebrate a seminal moment with 2026’s Break the Cycle (25th Anniversary live)[Alchemy Recordings/BMG], the Break The Cycle 25th Anniversary Tour, and more to come.
