JAMEY JOHNSON LIVE!! | REDHAT AMPHITHEATER

It was your typical August day in Raleigh, NC. Hot, muggy and sweaty. But even though it was hot, the weather did not stop everyone from lining up at the Red Hat Amphitheater to see Blackberry Smoke and Jamey Johnson. What a show it was! I will have to admit, this was my first time ever hearing of these bands and man, they did not disappoint!

First up on the Red Hat stage was Megan Moroney. She warmed everyone up with some awesome songs. Everyone that got to see her set heard an awesome voice and a great set. She did a wonderful job getting the crowd ready for the next act, Blackberry Smoke!

Blackberry Smoke took the stage next. They had a different set up due to their drummer having a medical issue before the stop in Raleigh. We hope he is doing well by the way! Blackberry Smoke did an acoustic set and it was magnificent. They played songs like Pretty Little Lie, Too High, One Horse Town, and a song with Jamey Johnson, Lonesome for a Livin'. They sounded amazing! And every song the crowd was singing along and having a great time. They definitely got the crowd for the final act, Jamey Johnson.

First of all...I honestly don't know if I can properly translate how awesome Jamey Johnson was! Dude can sing! The stage presence, Jamey Johnson definitely commanded it! Jamey performed his hits like Heartache, My Way to You, and In Color. He also sang some covers like Strawberry Wine, Trudy (along with Blackberry Smoke) and Faster Horses. No matter what he played, it was amazing! The crowd left very happy with this performance.

If you haven't seen any of these musicians live, you got too! You will not be disappointed. And, this is coming from your favorite metal head! I looked them up on my Spotify and they are all on rotation and songs on a playlist! Get out and see bands and artists you don't know of or never heard of! It's healthy!
