Lunar Vacation took the stage at Bushwick’s Brooklyn Made on June 29th to a packed crowd of eager fans. The show was opened up by Future Crib, who played a diverse set that ended on their high-energy “Most Likely Never Going To Die”, and The Slaps, who played a more stripped back but equally captivating set. Following these impressive openers, Lunar Vacation entertained the crowd with their own stacked setlist of light indie rock and alt pop songs. Grace Repasky’s impressive and consistent vocals were supported by a full band including guitar, keys, bass, and drums, and each member brought their own infectious energy to the live set. Some smaller details accented their charming energy, from guitarist Maggie removing her shoes and opting to more comfortably dance around the stage in her socks, to the small sock monkey that supported the band throughout their set from atop one of the amps; they crafted a welcoming and home-y atmosphere, enabling everyone in the crowd to come together and be fully immersed in the music together.

Lunar Vacation opened their set with “Monterey” and “Swimming”, a couple of older songs from their 2017 EP Swell. The Atlanta-based indie gem continued with a well balanced set filled with old fan favorites, a couple deep cuts, tracks from the new album, and even an unreleased song, before ending with the perfectly-selected closer “Shrug”.

Lunar Vacation released their debut full length album Inside Every Fig Is A Dead Wasp last October, and just finished touring the US in support of it. While they’ve been making music together for a while, the band is quite young - mostly in their early 20s, and they definitely have an exciting music career ahead of them.
