The Amity Affliction brought down the venue during their performance at the Ritz in Raleigh to an almost sold-out crowd. Amity Affliction is an Australian band based out of Queensland and formed in 2003. They have released 8 studio albums over the course of their music career with their latest album called “Not without my Ghosts” which was released in 2023. The band has created some legendary metal songs over the course of their career such as “Pittsburgh”, “Drag the Lake”, “Soak me in Bleach”, “Not without my Ghosts” (a personal favorite) and so many others. The bands incredible catalog of beautifully written songs that are mixed with compassionate and honest story driven compositions really make this band incredibly relatable for many. music fans around the world. The band continues to connect with their fans on many levels and you can see that connection during their live performances. As they performed at the Ritz to a packed house you could see attendees crying, screaming and shaking with emotion while singing along with each song being performed. The band has made a large impact in the metal music scene and only continue to grow, there live performances are full of energy and each band member is silhouetted by this back light that just enhances the mixture of emotions each fan has while watching the band pour their hearts out on stage. The Amity Affliction is a great band and seeing them live is something I don’t think any metal fan should miss out on.
