On the 14th of February, 2025, yes...valentines day, the Ritz was nearly sold out as the legendary musician Jerry Cantrell was scheduled to perform that night as well as the famed rock band Filter.
I was pleasantly surprised when I found out Filter was on this tour. Talk about taking a trip back in time to the late 90s, early 2000s! Filter is a great band who absolutely rocked the house and sounded amazing. The band performed several of their biggest hits including songs, “You Walk Away”, “Take A Picture”, “Welcome to the Fold” and “Hey Man Nice Shot”. There's no way when they left the stage, you weren't smiling.

After Filter finished their set the performer everyone was waiting for, Jerry Cantrell took the stage! Now, I have covered a lot of shows over the years that I never thought I'd see live but, I was legit "star struck" when Jerry Cantrell walked out onto the stage. I mean, he is a legend and I had the oppoturnity to be right there...seeing and hearing him play and sing. It was a moment I'll never forget and I don’t think anyone else will either. Jerry Cantrell and his band outperformed my every expectation. Jerry performed a large list of songs from almost every album of his personal catalog, including his newest album, “I Want Blood”. Jerry also performed some Alice In Chains classics including, “Them Bones”, “Down In A Hole”, “Would” and “Rooster”. The crowd sang along with every lyric and jammed to every song. It's hard to put into words how amazing the show was, so if you have the chance to catch Jerry Cantrell live, you better take it!!! You will leave his performance in awe of what you just witnessed. Jerry Cantrell is not only an incredible musician who has composed incredible music to the masses but also one of the best writers and guitarists to ever hit the stage. This is a show I will never forget.
