MAKE THEM SUFFER LIVE!! | THE UNDERGROUND

Coverage by Daphne McKinney

Make Them Suffer set out on their North American headline tour on February 20th in Minneapolis, MN. The band brought a huge lineup along for the entire tour including Aviana, Windwaker, and Like Moths to Flames. When the band rolled into The Underground in Charlotte, NC on March 7th they were set to play their thirteenth sold-out show in a row!! You could even feel the excitement from the bands and the fans in anticipation of this show!

Shortly after the doors opened, AVIANA would be the first band to hit the stage. AVIANA is a melodic deathcore band out of Sweden who is known for their progressive guitar leads. The band was shortly followed by Windwaker. Windwaker is a a hyperpop metal band out of Melbourne, Australia. This band brings loads of fun to every concert they play and easily had the fans pumped up all the way through their set.

Like Moths to Flames hit the stage next. Like Moths to Flames is an American metalcore band out of Columbus, OH. They released their 6th studio album, The Cycles of Trying to Cope, just last year. This album spawned some huge tracks like “Over The Garden Wall” which everyone (myself included) was excited to hear live.

When the lights went down and music stopped, everyone knew it was finally time for Make Them Suffer. There was a tape of “My Curse” by Killswitch Engage playing just before the band would step on stage. When the lights went up, Make Them Suffer jumped on stage and dove straight into “Epitaph” which is off of their latest self-titled release.

Make The Suffer played a huge headline set and people were singing right along to every track from the beginning all the way to the very end. There were also droves of fans crowd surfing up to the front of the stage for a quick fist bump from vocalist, Sean Harmanis. The band played loads of tracks from their latest album, but didn’t forget to include some favorites from their previous years. This concert was epic start to finish, and I totally get why it’s been selling out in every city.
