Molchat Doma performed at the Ritz Music Venue and put on one heck of a light show. I had never seen or heard of Molchat Doma but wanted to check out their performance and see what they were about. The group is from Minsk, Belarus and consists of members Egor Shkutko(Vocals), Roman Komogortsev (guitar, synthesizer, drum machine) and Pavel Kozlov (bass guitar, synthesizer). The band has a mix of sounds and are categorized as a “darkwave synth pop punk” group. Their sound is very different from anything I have ever heard before. Egor Shkutko (vocals) had a deep reverberating vocal tone in his delivery that would blend with the synth sounds created by Pavel and Roman. The music had this blend of cinematic dark tones with other songs sounding more bright and light in their tonal quality. When the group came out to the stage the crowd went wild and started screaming as they began to perform. It was a really good performance and the lighting setup was incredible as you can see from the images. I was really impressed by their performance and I would recommend their show if you are into synth pop style music but with a unique twist.
