THE WARNING LIVE!! | RITZ

Coverage by Larissa Blankenship

The Ritz was bursting at the seams on July 15th for The Warning’s sold out Raleigh, NC tour stop. The line of fans wrapped behind the building and around the parking lot, and once inside there was barely room to move around. After opening for Halsey earlier this year, The Warning brought their Keep Me Fed tour to Raleigh, marking the first time the band has ever performed here. The band hailing from Monterrey, Mexico is made up of the three Villarreal Vélez sisters. The oldest, Daniela "Dany", sings the lead vocals while playing epic guitar solos. The middle, Paulina "Pau", provides backing vocals while rocking out on her custom drum set and sings lead for songs such as “Shark”. The youngest, Alejandra "Ale", makes jamming out on her bass guitar look easy while providing backup and occasional lead vocals.

Starting the night strong with “Six Feet Deep” off of their latest album Keep Me Fed, the band proved they know how to rock hard. The three sisters were an absolute powerhouse, moving around the stage tossing their hair and bringing the incredible instrumentation on their songs to life. The band brought the house down with their stage presence. Their fans were equally energetic and devoted to the music, chanting parts of the songs such as “going once, going twice, sold” from “MONEY”. The Warning closed out the show with a two song encore featuring “Narcisista” and “Automatic Sun”.

The three sisters each bring their own unique talent and energy to the stage, which culminates in one of the greatest fast growing modern rock bands. If you are looking for a new rock obsession look no further, you will not regret giving The Warning a listen.
