LAMB OF GOD LIVE!! | REDHAT

Coverage by Chris Sturk

Lamb of God, one of the most influential metal bands of the last three decades, stormed into the Red Hat Amphitheater and tore the place apart with a pit that never stopped moving. Few bands can command a crowd the way they do, and Raleigh showed up ready to match their intensity.

It’s wild to think their journey began 32 years ago — back in 1994, when I was still in high school. Since then, Lamb of God has carved out a legacy that shaped the landscape for countless metal acts that followed. Their sound, built on gritty, razor‑sharp riffs and relentless precision, remains instantly recognizable. And at the center of it all is Randy Blythe, whose stage presence is as commanding as ever.

Randy may no longer have the long dreads that once defined his look, but he still moves with the same ferocity — headbanging, leaping across the stage, and driving the crowd into a frenzy. His energy hasn’t faded with time; if anything, it feels sharpened by experience.

The band’s catalog is stacked with heavy hitters, and their most recent release, Into Oblivion (2026), proves they’re still pushing forward rather than coasting on their legacy. Hearing new material blend seamlessly with classics only reinforced how consistent and powerful their songwriting has been across three decades.

What’s most impressive is how Lamb of God continues to ignite a pit like a band half their age. Thirty‑two years is an incredible run for any metal act — but for one that still shakes the stage, commands the crowd, and delivers with this level of precision, it’s nothing short of remarkable.

Lamb of God isn’t just surviving the test of time. They’re still setting the bar.
